West Greene grad hits her stride with marathon group

Allison Corbett, appropriately, will hit the ground running in her new job.

The Greene County native is the new marketing and communications director of Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon Inc. She will be responsible for marketing communications strategies for P3R and its events, which include the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler and the Great Allegheny Passage Trail Relay, a new race.

“I am beyond excited to return to my hometown to join the P3R team,” Corbett said in a news release. She previously was a communications consultant for Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston, and before that worked in communications at FedEx Ground.

Corbett graduated from West Greene High School in 2004 as Allison Houser. She grew up in the Pine Bank section of Gilmore Township.

Firm opens

Texas office

Carmichaels-based ISM Services Inc. announced Tuesday that it had opened a regional office in San Antonio, Texas.

“We are very excited to be entering the San Antonio and Texas markets,” Paul Williams, the company president, said in a news release.

ISM Services handles sales and the implementation, development and sustainment of Integrated Workplace Management System. It also has satellite offices in Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C.

Farm to Table event

Farm to Table Connections of Western Pennsylvania will be holding a Lunch & Learn series this summer and fall throughout the region. Registration and lunch are free.

The Marketplace at Emerald Valley, 145 S. Main St., Washington, will host an event from 1 to 3 p.m. next Thursday. Consumers and business representatives may attend, and business people may bring product samples and business cards.

Farm to Table strives to help businesses, farms, restaurants, schools and health-care companies connect with each other.

Cal U. youth program

California University of Pennsylvania will hold its annual Summer Educational Enrichment for Kids program July 9-13 and July 23-27.

SEEK, for children entering grades 1 through 8, will hold classes from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on those days. The cost is $135 per child for a full-week, full-day program, or $90 per child for a full-week, half-day program (morning or afternoon).

The theme is “Out of This World.” Children are escorted between classes and supervised at lunchtime. Each should bring a bag lunch, although refrigeration is not available.

  • Mayer Electric Supply at 85 W. Maiden St., Washington – and at all of its locations in 14 states – is now known simply as Mayer in a corporate rebranding.
