Spring has finally arrived and it’s time to go outdoors and enjoy the warmer weather! Please have patience, be mindful and watch out for children in your neighborhood – especially while driving. Also, please look out for one another and offer a helping hand where needed.

In May, All Clad Industries will again sponsor a Beautification Project on Pike Street. A large crew of volunteers will clean and plant flowers. We appreciate their time and effort to make downtown look even more welcoming.

We continue to work toward bringing in new businesses and opportunities for our patrons. If you know of anyone interested in bringing a family restaurant or a specialized business to your hometown, please have them contact me.

I have been working with Senator Camera Bartolotta, State Representative Tim O’Neal and Canon-McMillan School District superintendent Michael Daniels to have an informative meeting for elected officials in the Canon-McMillan School District to obtain answers regarding the increased cases of Ewing’s Sarcoma cancer in our school district and surrounding areas. It is my goal to get to the bottom of this issue and to educate everyone in the area regarding this topic. We will update everyone with information as soon as we learn more.

Our effort and the efforts of others working hard to keep Canonsburg a safe place is really starting to make a difference in our wonderful community. Thank you everyone and keep up the good work! Our police department takes every lead it gets seriously, and they follow it to the end. It is because of these types of leads that early intervention is achieved, and we can put a stop to illegal activities in our town. We continue to have and open-door policy and all leads are kept confidential and only used within our department.
