The Pennsylvania Game Commission’s bald eagle cam was highly successful over the past couple years and already drew nearly 650,000 views since going live earlier this year.
That web traffic to view the nest at Cordorus State Park near Hanover should only increase as the nesting pair of eagles have hatchlings.
The female eagle laid her first egg on Valentine’s Day. She laid a second egg Feb. 17.
The incubation period for bald eagle eggs is typically 35 days, which would mean the eggs were due to hatch Saturday.
To follow progress on Twitter, use the hashtag eggwatch.
Or, if you’d like a chance to possibly view the hatching or the eaglets, visit http://hdontap.com/index.php/video/stream/bald-eagle-live-cam.
The live camera, which gives a high definition view of the nest, is a joint project of Pennsylvania Game Commission, HDOnTap and Comcast Business.
Meanwhile, the nesting eagles in Hays, which also were the subject of an eagle cam, had one of their two eggs break last week. That nesting pair laid its eggs Feb. 17 and 21.
Their nest can be viewed at a number of different web sites, including http://www.aviary.org/BE-NestCam1.
