Friend – 99 years
Pauline R. Workman Friend of Lone Pine will celebrate her 99th birthday next week.
She was born in the home of her grandparents, Emmor and Louisa Gundlack Ames, near Marianna on November 19, 1913.
On December 18, 1933, she married Ralph W. Friend, who is deceased.
She has five children, Shirley (Al) Gallik and Richard Friend, both of Marianna, Edward (Phyllis) Friend of New Jersey, Carol (Lee) Brewer of Lone Pine and John (Marge) Friend of New York.
Her grandchildren are Jeff Friend, Cheryl Rockovich, Jeaneen Ritchey Theiroff, Denise DeJohn, Paula Hall, Edward Brewer, Paulajo Easterly, Jason Friend, Kiley Iams and the late Douglas and Eugene Gallik. She has 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Friend enjoys reading the newspaper, researching genealogy for Ames, Workman and Friend and is a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
