Discover the ins and outs of the college financial aid process at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 at Peters Township Public Library.

Jayeann Harr from the Pennsylvania High Education Assistance Agency will describe all federal and state financial aid programs, scholarships and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid application processes. Other topics will include how colleges award aid to families and how financial aid deadline dates interface with the college admissions process.

The program is free, but registration is required by emailing programs@ptlibrary.org, visiting the circulation desk or calling 724-941-9430.

A handbag sale to benefit the Washington Hospital Auxiliary will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 and 26 in the Garden Room at Washington Hospital. Items will be 30 percent to 60 percent off retail prices. There will be fashion handbags, leather handbags, designer handbags, briefcases, luggage, wallets, mini-bags and small leather goods.
