Peters Township Public Library and the Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters are hosting an amateur photography contest in April.

The contest is open to all amateur photographers, and there are three categories: people, landscapes and animals.

First prize in each category will be $25, second prize will be $10, and third prize will be a certificate. All winners will receive a 2013-14 membership to the Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters Camera Club, which meets monthly at the library.

Deadline for entries is April 25. There is a $3 fee per entry, with a maximum of three entries per person. Photographic prints must be no smaller than 5 inches by 7 inches and no larger than 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches. Prints should not be framed or mounted.

Entries should be dropped off at the library’s circulation desk. Each entry should be accompanied by the fee and a completed entry form, which is available at the circulation desk. Cash or checks will be accepted. Checks should be made out to Friends of the Peters Township Public Library.

Winning photographs will be on display at the library from May 1-15. Entrants can pick up their photographs between May 16 and 25.
