Emily Rose Boccardi of Venetia has graduated from Denison University, Granville, Ohio, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. She was a member of Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honors Society and a four-year member of the cheerleading squad. She is employed by the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation. She is a 2009 graduate of Peters Township High School. Her parents are Raymond Boccardi of Upper St. Clair and the late Rosemarie Boccardi.

Robert Giacomantonio has graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned a master of business administration degree and master of science degree in mechanical engineering. He was in the Leaders for Global Operations program at MIT. He also completed a six-month internship with Nike in Portland, Ore. Giacomantonio graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. The 2002 graduate of Bentworth High School is employed by Colfax Corp. and resides in Rockville, Md. with wife, Karen. His parents are David and Jody Giacomantonio of Scenery Hill.

Jocelyn Hartley was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Geneva College, where she is majoring in communication disorders. She also is a student admissions counselor. She is a 2010 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School. Her parents are John and Kaye Hartley of Ruff Creek.

Kimberly Loughman graduated cum laude at Washington & Jefferson College, where she was regulary named to the dean’s list. She majored in history and was a member of the National History Honor Society. She did her Magellan Project abroad in England. She also was a student ambassador and J-Walker. She is a 2009 graduate of East Allegheny High School and employed by Eat ‘n’ Park. Her parents are Sarah Walters of Duquesne and the late Kenneth Loughman.

Jared Alan Nicholson, a 2009 graduate of Peters Tonwship High School, has graduated summa cum laude from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio, where he majored in mathematics. He was a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society, recipient of the S. A. Singer memorial award for outstanding proficiency in mathematics and played safety on the Capital Crusader football team, freshman year. He is pursing a master’s degree in math education at the University of Pittsburgh. His parents are Philip and Karen Nicholson of McMurray.

Brooke Plants, daughter of Gaylord and Connie Plants of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at California University of Pennsylvania. She is majoring in criminology with a minor in psychology. She is a 2009 graduate of Trinity High School and employed by Dee’s Wireless.

Lauren Elizabeth Tan graduated and was named to the dean’s list at Washington & Jefferson College. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in religious studies. She plans to attend graduate school at California University of Pennsylvania and study school counseling. Her parents are Timothy and Pamela Tan of Bethel Park.
