Fort Vance Historical Society is seeking volunteers to help collect articles from old newspapers. The group will meet on Wednesdays through November in theBurgettstown Community Library’s meeting room. Monongahela River Buffs will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at River Museum, 175 Second St., Monongahela. Spidermania will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mingo Creek County Park, Route 136, Shelter 4. California University of Pennsylvania professor Dr. Chad Hanna will search, capture and identify arachnids found in fields and forests of the park. Washington Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a uniform, shoe and accessory sale from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 in the community room at Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Ave.
