Announcement is made of the engagement of Heather Frederick and Shawn McFarland, both of Charlotte, N.C.

Heather’s parents are Rick and Cathy Frederick of Tylersburg, and Shawn’s parents are Robin and Debbie McFarland of Washington.

The future bride is a 2009 graduate of North Clarion Junior/Senior High School and a 2011 graduate of Pittsburgh Technical Institute with an associate degree in accounting.

Her fiance is a 2006 graduate of Chartiers-Houston Junior/Senior High School and a 2010 graduate of Robert Morris University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a focus in international business. He is employed as an account executive at Dell Inc.

A September 20, 2013, wedding is planned.
