Nickel – Varner
Joyce Ann Varner and Thomas Wesley Nickel were united marriage April 27, 2013, at the Ramada Inn, Washington, with the Rev. Doug Reinard officiating the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride’s parents are Darlene J. Varner of Upper St. Clair and the late James R. Varner Sr.
The bridegroom’s parents are the late Edward and Caroline Nickel.
The bride was given in marriage by her mother.
Matrons of honor were the bride’s sister-in-laws, Gina Marchando Varner of Davie, Fla. and Deborah Nickel of Johnstown. Flower girl was Tashi Walker of Johnstown, granddaughter of the couple.
Best man was David Nickel of Johnstown, brother of the groom. Groomsmen was James R. Varner Jr. of Davie, Fla., brother of the bride.
Ring bearer was Joey Young of Newbern, N.C., grandson of the couple. Readers were Rebecca Nickel of Johnston and Caroline Young of Newbern, daughters of the groom; and Benjamin Winters of Strabane and Melissa Winters of Ruff Creak, children of the bride.
A reception was held at the wedding site.
The new Mrs. Nickel is an employee of Allegheny Health Network.
Mr. Nickel is a retired coal mine foreman.
The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to Creekside Resort & Spa in West Virginia and make their home in Strabane.
