Classes to focus on spiritual practices

Pastor Anne Woodman-Howe of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Washington will be offering a weekly course on traditional and modern Christian spiritual practices at 7 p.m. Mondays, beginning Feb. 25.

Traditional and modern Christian spiritual practices will include “Mapping Your Faith Journey Imaginative Prayer,” “Examining Your Life According to St. Ignatius,” “Simplifying Your life,” “Interacting with Nature,” “Confession,” “Contemplative Prayer,” “Divine Reading” and “Discerning God’s Working in Your Life.”

Presentations will include methods that are both reflective and hands-on, serious and playful, depending on the topic. Each class will be an hour to an hour-and-a-half. There will be time for information giving and time to reflect individually and as a group.

Woodman-Howe has been an ordained pastor in the Lutheran church for 22 years. She has a Master of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, and a Doctor of Ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
