Bruce J. Carlton was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Carlow University, where he is a sociology major with specialization in criminal justice. His parents are Joanne and David Carlton Sr. of Midway. He is a 2008 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and is employed by Quicksilver Golf Course. Carlton is also a member of the Italian American Society of Washington County and the McDonald Rod and Gun Club.

Lynne Christopher, daughter of Kenneth and Tamara Christopher of Carmichaels, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Pittsburgh as a senior media and professional communications major. The 2010 Carmichaels High School graduate is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is an intern at The Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania and The Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation.

Elizabeth Crawford, a 2009 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and daughter of Shelly R. Roppelt of Houston, was named to the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University for the fall semester. She is a public health major.

Emily Elizabeth Hall has graduated from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, where she was a communications/public relations major. Hall is a member of Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honorary; Public Relations Student Society of America chapter and student-run PR firm, Rock PRoductions; University Program Board’s Marketing Committee (photographer); and the German Club (vice president). Her parents are Joseph and Kelly Hall of Burgettstown and she graduated in 2009 from Burgettstown High School.

Shannon Smith has made the dean’s list for the fall semester at Penn State University, where she is a biological engineering major with a minor in environmental engineering and a member of the Women in Engineering Organization. Her parents are Patrick and Maureen Smith of McMurray and she graduated from Peters Township High School in 2010.
