Fundraiser to help Venetia woman

A fundraiser to help defray medical costs will be held Jan. 24 at Del’s Bar & Ristorante, 4428 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh.
Wednesday, Dana Christner donated a kidney to her sister, Geri Whalen of Venetia. After recovering from her kidney transplant, Whalen will be added to the transplant waiting list in hopes of receiving a new pancreas.
The fundrasier begins at 5 p.m. and has a $10 cover charge. Wings, pizza appetizers and a pasta bar will be available. There also will be a silent auction and drinks served by guest bartender Jennifer LaBella. All proceeds, tips and donations will go to NFT in Whalen’s honor.
