Moninger – 105 years

Margaret Isiminger Moninger will celebrate her 105th birthday with an open house celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 3 at Center Township Fire Department, Rogersville. It is requested that gifts be omitted. For those who wish, send cards to 725 Herrods Run Road, New Freeport, PA 15352.

She was born February 4, 1908, in Springhill Township, Mt. Carmel, Greene County, the fifth child of Henry and Lucinda Whipkey Isiminger’s nine children.

On December 24, 1929, she married Danley Moninger, who is deceased.

Her children are Shirley Moninger Zimmerman of New Freeport, Sharon Moninger Creighton of Findlay, Ohio, Calvin Moninger of Cameron, W.Va., and the late Eugene Moninger.

She has 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Four great-grandchildren are deceased.

Mrs. Moninger is a member of Centennial Church of God, where she was a Sunday school teacher and deaconess, a charter member of Warriors Trail Association, member of Aleppo Harvey’s Grange and Greene County Pomona Grange and volunteer for American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days. She enjoys traveling and playing with her grandchildren. Last year, American Cancer Society said she was the oldest volunteer for Daffodil Days.
