Used children’s cars seats will be inspected from 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 2 at McDonald’s on Meadow Lands Boulevard, North Strabane Township.

McDonald’s is teaming up with AAA East Central, Southwest Regional Traffic Highway Safety Network and North Strabane Township police and fire departments for the event.

According to AAA, many unsafe car seats and boosters are unknowingly sold at yard sales, given to friends and family or donated for resale. Certified car-seat technicians will check each seat and teach participants how to properly use their seats. For every seat brought to the event, McDonald’s will donate a coupon for a new quarter-pounder burger or McMuffin.
