CMSD Hall of Honor nominations sought

Canon-McMillan School District is accepting nominations for its Hall of Honor, which recognizes individuals who, through their accomplishments or contributions, have distinguished themselves in academia, athletics, arts, citizenry or valor.

Nominees should be alumni or other community members who have made significant contributions to the Canon-McMillan School District community and are at least 30 years old.

Categories include academia/scholastic achievement; athletic achievement, artistic achievement; citizenry, honoring those who perform outstanding service to the community; and valor, honoring those who have distinguished themselves through heroic acts or outstanding service to others, community and/or country.

The district has a Hall of Honor football game when new members are announced. In addition, new members are inducted at a banquet in their honor and the plaques are unveiled. New members are recognized with cerificates from the state House of Representatives and Congress.

Nomination forms are available on the district’s website, www.cmsd.k12.pa.us, and at the high school or the administration building, 1 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg. Deadline to submit nominations is Aug. 9.
