The third annual Washington County Rainbow Picnic will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 17 in the Kiwanis Pavilion at Washington Park.

The picnic brings together the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community along with family and friends for an afternoon of food and fun.

The event is presented by Persad Center’s Community Safe Zone. Persad Center has been a member of the Washington community for eight years, providing counseling and support services to the area’s LGBT population, their familes and friends. Community Safe Zone, a program of Persad Center, spends much of the year working with area groups to make the community a safe, welcoming place for everyone.
