Charleroi’s annual Community Day and Fireworks celebration will be held July 3, and has been expanded to include a “Salute to First Responders Parade,” children’s area and music throughout the day.
The children’s area in the Market House will be open from noon to 8 p.m. and feature a bounce house, face-painting, magic show, crafts and food. Kids also can decorate their bikes in a patriotic theme and ride in the parade.
Entertainment in Magic City Square will include:
• Blue Light Studio and Nashville recording artists the Hobbs Sisters, noon to 2 p.m.
• Polka band Mon Valley Push, 3 to 6 p.m.
• Mon Valley Superstars and local dancers, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
• Country band Saddle Up, 7:30 to 9:45 p.m.
Car cruise areas will be reserved from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in three downtown parking lots and on Fifth Street. Car clubs that would like to reserve a lot should call the borough at 724-483-6011.
Fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m., followed by a beach party from 10 to 11 p.m.
Food booths will be available along Bosson Way in the Chamber Plaza. Nonprofit groups within the Charleroi Area School District that want to operate food booths are being offered free space. Commercial vendor space also is available.
Booth information is available by calling the borough offices between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
