Jennie Buchte of Southmont Presbyterian Home, Washington, will celebrate her 107th birthday with a private dinner from Solomon’s with her niece and nephew.

She was born March 18, 1906, in Alabama, and grew up in Washington.

Miss Buchte has many nieces and nephews and never forgets their birthdays. She worked on the family farm until she was 15. She worked at the glass factory in Washington for 13 years and was an inspector for Westinghouse in New Jersey for 28 years, when she retired at age 72 and moved back to Washington.

She enjoys reading the Observer-Reporter every day and talking about current events. She had enjoyed crocheting and writing letters.
