Family Garden Workshop will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Highland Ridge Community Garden. The workshop will focus on gardening in small spaces, seed starting and composting. Registration is required; call Sue Ward at 412-217-9364 or email highlandridgecdc@gmail.com.

Mother’s Day Craft Show and Sale will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Roscoe Presbyterian Church. There will be a bake sale and arts and crafts made by area residents, plus live music. In addition, free chair massages will be given, and all women will receive a gift. Proceeds will benefit the church’s Appalachian summer mission trip.

A spaghetti dinner and dessert fundraiser will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hugo’s Restaurant. Takeout orders will be available. There will be a basket raffle and 50/50 drawing. Cost is $6 for teens and adults and $4 for children 9 and younger. Proceeds will benefit Roscoe Presbyterian Church’s Appalachian summer mission trip.

Rummage sale and flea market begins at 9 a.m. May 18 at Malden Christian Fellowship Church, near Malden Drive-In. Win a bike at the bike parade. There will be food, kids games and crafts. For more information, call 724-785-4280 or e-mail mcfchurch343@gmail.com

Strawberry festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. May 18 at Speers United Methodist Church, 810 Jane Ave., Speers Hill. There will be entertainment, food, bake sale and Chinese auctions. Donations for Charleroi Food Bank will be accepted.

Poppy day is 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 18 in the Houston area. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 902 volunteers will distribute the poppies to honor America’s war dead. For more information, call 724-745-3391.
