Charleroi businesses will hold the annual lighting of the Christmas trees and Santa’s arrival on Nov. 29.
“Fa La La Friday” will begin at 4 p.m. in the Market House on McKean Avenue, with hot chocolate, crafts, Lu Lu the Clown and caroling. Santa will arrive by horse-drawn wagon in a parade on McKean Avenue from Second to Fifth Street.
Santa visits will start at the Market House at 5:15 p.m. There will be treats for children and a “Santa Puzzler Contest” at 15 businesses from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. Horse-drawn wagon rides with caroling will be available for $1 at Magic City Square from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Charleroi also will celebrate Small Business Saturday as part of a “Shop Small” national promotion for small businesses. Fourteen businesses will be offering special deals on Nov. 30. Each business will have a coupon sheet for other downtown businesses. In addition, some will offer refreshments and snacks.
