MVH to host program on pulmonary medicine

Experts from medical centers in Pennsylvania and Maryland will discuss advances in pulmonary medicine during the 2013 Medical Staff Symposium from 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Oct. 16 at Monongahela Valley Hospital’s Anthony M. Lombardi Education and Conference Center.

The event is designed as an update for physicians, nurses and other health-care professionals in the prevention, diagnosis and management of sleep disorders and chronic lung diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Speakers include physicians from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Allegheny General Hospital and the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority in Harrisburg.

Cost is $25 and includes continental breakfast and lunch. MVH physicians may attend for free. For more information, call 724-258-1145.
