Saffell – Simpson
Bonnie Simpson and Eric Saffell were united in marriage August 3, 2013, in Church of the Covenant, Washington, with Dr. Stuart Broberg officiating the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Fred and Sherry Simpson of Houston. Her grandparents are Donald and Donna Scott of Houston and the late Norman and Betty Simpson.
Parents of the bridegroom are Greg and Debbie Saffell of Bluefield, W.Va. His grandparents are Charles and Regina Jennette of Lansing, Ohio, and the late Ernest and Ann Saffell.
Matron of honor was Jessica Magnone of Ambridge. Bridesmaids were Ashley Makarevich of New Castle, Tanesha Minney of Houston and Renee Saffell of Bluefield, W.Va., sister of groom.
Flower girls were Paige and Sophie Simpson, nieces of the bride.
Best man was Travis Harry of Princeton, W.Va. Ushers were Chris Presley of Princeton, W.Va., Brad Simpson of Washington, brother of bride, and Josh Simpson of Stephens City, Va., brother of bride. Vocalists were Chick Carlisle and Darla Pepper-Miller.
A reception was held at Chartiers Township social hall.
The new Mrs. Saffell is a 2004 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School. She has two degrees from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She earned a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology and audiology in 2008 a master’s degree in speech language pathology in 2009. She is a speech language pathologist for Chartiers Valley School District.
Mr. Saffell is a 2003 graduate of Princeton High School and a 2007 graduate of West Virginia University, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He earned his master of business administration degree in 2008 from WVU. He also was a pitcher for the Mountaineers baseball team. He is a mechanical engineer with Forge Group, Canonsburg.
The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to the Finger Lakes in New York and make their home in Houston.
