Gardeners to present Fall Decorating

Penn State Master Gardeners will present Fall Decorating at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Washington County Community Center, 216 Taylor Drive, Canonsburg.
Those who participate will make fall centerpieces from items in the garden.
Cost is $5 per person. All supplies will be provided.
Registration is required by calling the Penn State Cooperative Extension office at 724-228-6881.
Scaremare 2013 will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday at 176 Main St., Monongahela.
Ticket office opens at 6 p.m. Cost is $15 per person, or $12 with a coupon that can be obtained online at www.scaremare.net. Rates of $10 per person for groups of 10 or more also are available. Call 412-444-9500 to register.
All proceeds will benefit area charities, including Teen Quest and missionaries in Ecuador and the Philippines. Teen Quest is a ranch in Somerset that reaches teens through year-round camps and events.
Pharoah’s House of Plagues, a Halloween alternative, will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, 2230 Washington Road, Canonsburg.

The West Alexander Fair, in conjunction with West Alexander Volunteer Fire Department, will hold its first “Scare at the Fair” walk-through haunted house from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Halloween night at the West Alexander Fairgrounds, 116 Route 40 West. Ticket sales end at 10 p.m. Admission is $10. Children must at least 8 years old to participate alone. “Scare Care” with crafts and entertainment is available for children 7 and younger. Mother Earth Farm, 610 Apple Hill Road, Waynesburg, is celebrating the fall season with a haunted orchard and old-fashioned hayrides from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Cost is $5 per person and includes the haunted orchard and hayride. Guests also can choose to visit the haunted barn for $5 or a combined ticket for $8. Children younger than 3 are free.
In addition, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sundays, all-age hayrides will be given.
