The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania will hold its fifth annual Pooch Parade Oct. 27 at South Park.

The family-friendly event features a 1-mile fun walk on a paved trail beginning at the Dog Park at South Park. All registered participants will receive morning refreshments, a tote bag of goodies, a long-sleeve T-shirt and a bandana for their dog. There will be a costume contest with prizes for best dog and best dog/owner combo costumes, plus raffles of gift baskets and silent auctions, including Steeler tickets and a Myrtle Beach vacation. A variety of vendors will provide information and products for dog owners.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the parade begins at 10.

Proceeds will benefit the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania, a private, nonprofit agency that provides treatment and support services to those with myasthenia gravis, chronic autoimmune muscle weakness disorder.
