Monongahela Area Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the parlor room at First Presbyterian Church, Sixth and West Main streets, Monongahela. Leslie Yoder, a museum professional, vice regent of the Monongahela Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and an experienced historical researcher, will speak on “Pennsylvania’s Revoluttionary Women. The public is welcome.

Friends of Citizens Library will hold their annual meeting at 7 p.m. Friday at Citizens Library, 55 S. College St., Washington, with Jack Bogut, radio personality and storyteller, as speaker. Admission is $5, payable at the door.

The second annual Sgt. Nathan Kennedy Memorial ride will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 639, Claysville. Registration will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Cost is $15 for a single rider and $25 for a double. Checks should be payable to the American Legion Riders and sent to: Claysville American Legion Riders, 208 Main St., Claysville, PA 15323. Rabies Plus Clinic sponsored by Pet Search will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 915 Jessop Place, Washington. Rabies vaccinations will be available for cats and dogs for $6. Other vaccinations that will be available are dog DHLPP (booster), bordatella, lyme, cat FCRCP (booster) and leukemia. Additional services will include microchipping for $25 and spay/neuter assistance program vouchers.

Book Fair sponsored by the Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources will begin at 9 a.m. May 2 in the Education Conference Center at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Proceeds will be used to enhance services for patients and visitors at the hospital. For more information, call 724-258-1167.

Star parties will be held at dusk May 2 and 3 at Mingo Creek Observatory, Mingo Creek County Park, near Shelter 10. Viewing will be held as long as there is a partly clear sky. Spring into the Outdoors program will begin at 2 p.m. May 3 and end May 4 at Mingo Creek County Park. A variety of spring-themed activities will be led by park staff and volunteers. There is no fee to participate. Family camping will be offered Saturday night in shelters 6 through 9. Cost is $5 per campsite/family. Those who wish to camp can set up at 1 p.m. May 3.
