Home ownership workshops planned

Home Ownership Center of Washington County, a program of Community Action Southwest, will launch a workshop series, “Building Your Financial House,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17.
The workshops will be held the third Wednesday of each month through May and are designed to help residents identify financial strengths, challenges and strategies before purchasing a home.
In addition, participants will be paired with a certified HUD housing counselor, who will meet with participants to develop action plans designed to help them achieve their housing-related financial goals.
The free workshops and coaching sessions are sponsored by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. Free child care also will be available at each workshop.
