Archaeological preschool program for 3- to 5-year-olds will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 2 and 3 at Shelter 1 at Mingo Creek County Park. Staff will help with digging through the park. Tools will be provided. Sponsored by the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation. Registration is required by calling 724-228-6867. Cost is $2 per child, and an adult must attend.

AFSCME Retired Chapter 13, Subchapter 8402, will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at Frank Sarris Public Library, 35 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg. With the exception of January and February, meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month.

Praying mantis homeschool outdoor classroom for 5- to 11-year-olds will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 11 at Shelter 4 at Mingo Creek County Park. Sponsored by the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation. Registration is required by calling 724-228-6867.

The Churchmen, a bluegrass gospel group, will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at East Bethlehem Baptist Church, 264 Buckingham Road, Fredericktown.

Tour the Montour Trail ride will be held Saturday, Sept. 20. Check-in begins at 7:15 a.m. The 44-mile bike ride begins at 8:30 a.m.; the 15- and 24-mile bike rides begin at 8:45; and the six-mile family bike ride begins at 9. For more information, visit www.montourtrail.org.
