Philips – Thompson
Michelle Thompson and Ross Philips were united in marriage October 5, 2013, in First Presbyterian Church, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride’s parents are Herb and Mary Thompson of Waynesburg. Her grandparents are Mary Jane Thompson of New Brighton, the late Herbert Thompson, Dorothy Roberts of Washington and the late John F. Roberts.
Parents of the bridegroom are William (Bill) and Vickie Philips of McMurray. His grandparents are William and Naomi Philips and Joan Clement, all of Venetia, and the late Arthur and Edna Hrabchak.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Matron of honor for her sister was Jessica Harrison of Waynesburg.
Best man was William “Chip” Philips of Canonsburg, brother of the groom.
Ushers and attendants were Ben Berkey, Jesse Harrison, Ted Gilliland, Crystal Picciafoco and Erin Kunz.
Scripture reader was Matt Picciafoco. Don Bartlett was vocalist, and music was provided by the Dan Baker Group.
A reception was held at Valley Brook Country Club. The couple ended the evening by releasing Chinese sky lanterns into the sky.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 2006 from Waynesburg University and a master’s degree in 2007 from West Virginia University. She is employed with Washington Financial Bank as an assistant vice president/senior marketing associate.
Her husband is a 2003 graduate of Peters Township High School and a 2007 graduate of Waynesburg University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. He is employed by Opeka Auto Repair as a physical damage appraiser/repair process manager.
The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to Secrets Resort, Punta Cana.
