Wash Arts celebrates Black History Month

Washington Community Arts and Cultural Center, 70 South St., will present Black Arts, a Black History Month celebration, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Local and regional black artists will be featured, including Darrell Kinsell, John Yandell, Emmai Alaquiva, Saihou Njie, Marlana Vassar, Gneticz Culture and Thaddeus Mosley.

Rueben Brock will be spinning a mix of old-school rhythm and blues and hip-hop.

In addition:

• The LeMoyne House, 49 E. Maiden St., Washington, will offer a presentation on Francis LeMoyne and the Underground Railroad from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.wchspa.org/.

• Washington Health System Teen Outreach will have essay presentations and announce the winners of the Black History Month written and photo essays from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Common Ground Teen Center, 53 N. College St., Washington.
