Lunch and learn focuses on gambling

“The Hidden Problem of Gambling in Our Community” will be the subject of a lunch-and-learn program that will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. March 7 at Carter Hall at California University of Pennsylvania.
The program will be repeated from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. March 28 at Julian’s Banquet Hall, 78 W. Maiden St., Washington.
The Washington County Problem Gambling Team is sponsoring the free event. Speakers will include Dr. John Massella, a counselor and educator with 25 years of experience in the treatment field, and a representative from Gamblers Anonymous. Participants also will learn about $1,000 minigrants for which they may be eligible to apply.
The event is co-sponsored by Washington Drug and Alcohol Commission, Pennsylvania Certification Board and Intermediate Unit 1. Three hours of PCB credits and three Act 48 hours will be awarded for successful completion.
