Brent Bigler graduated from Clarion University with degrees in business management and human resources. He also was named to the dean’s list for his second consecutive semester when he graduated and was a semifinalist in the 2013 Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Student Business Plan competition. He was a member of the golf team and was honored as an academic athlete. He is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School and is employed by Bobby Rahal Automotive Group. His parents are Randy and Elaine Bigler of Washington.
Kelly Marie Blackhurst was named to the dean’s list at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where she is majoring in early childhood education. Blackhurst is vice president of the Blue and Gold Society, secretary/treasurer of Gamma Phi Chapter of Pi Lambda Theta International Honor Society for education, a member of the Education Club and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. She is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are Carla Blackhurst of Washington and the late Kenny Blackhurst. She is employed by Jimmy Johns.
Mark Richard Dami was named to the dean’s list at Waynesburg University, where he is majoring in nursing. Dami is a human physiology tutor and a member of the Nursing Club and the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania. He is a 2012 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, and his parents are Rich and Terri Dami of Canonsburg. Dami has been employed by the Golf Club of Washington for the past five years.
Alexander Lee was named to the dean’s list at Eastman School of Music, where he is majoring in violin performance and studies with Charles Castleman. Lee recently won the Eastman violin concerto competition and performed the entire Beethoven “Violin Concerto” with the Eastman conservatory orchestra in November. He also is employed as a Baroque violinist at Christ Episcopal Church in Rochester, N.Y. His parents are Kevin and Alice Lee of Washington. Lee is a 2009 graduate of Trinity High School.
Eleanor Lee was named to the dean’s list for the fifth consecutive semester at the Eastman School of Music, where she is a cello performance major and studies with Alan Harris. She is employed as a cellist at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rochester, N.Y. Lee is a 2011 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are Kevin and Alice Lee of Washington.
Mackenzie McElhaney, daughter of Jim and Sally McElhaney of Washington, was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average for the third consecutive semester at Slippery Rock University, where she is majoring in exercise science/physical therapy, which is a six-year program. McElhaney is a 2012 graduate of McGuffey High School.
Lauren Moore was named to the dean’s list at West Virginia University, where she is majoring in petroleum engineering. Moore is a 2013 graduate of Washington High School, and her parents are James and Paula Moore of Washington.
John Riley, son of John Riley and Deb Riley, both of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at West Virginia University, where he is majoring in civil engineering. He is a 2012 graduate of Washington High School.
Ciara Rotondo was named to the dean’s list for the seventh consecutive semester at Penn State University, where she is majoring in early childhood education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and the Student Pennsylvania State Education Association and an active participant in THON. Her parents are Thomas and Kelly Rotondo and Judith Rotondo. Rotondo is a 2010 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and is employed by Elizabethtown Child Care Center.
Matthew Rozak, son of Paul and Heather Rozak of McMurray, was named to the dean’s list for the fifth consecutive semester at Penn State University, where he is majoring in computer science and mathematics in the College of Engineering. Rozak has completed summer internships at BMW and Microsoft, and has accepted an offer from Microsoft to return as a software development engineering intern for 2014. Rozak is a 2011 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.
Stephanie Sapic was named to the dean’s list for the seventh consecutive semester at Waynesburg University, where she is majoring in early childhood education and special education. She is a member of the university’s National Honor Society. Sapic is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School and is employed by Once Upon a Time Children’s Learning Center in Washington and the Double Tree Hotel in Meadow Lands. She also will student teach at Canon-McMillan Elementary School until graduation. Her parents are Ken Sapic and Kim Sapic, both of Washington.
