Dinner dance to benefit Olivia Scott Foundation

The fifth annual Olivia Scott Foundation Valentine’s Day Dinner Dance will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Feb. 15 at Lone Pine Country Club, 2755 Park Ave., Washington.
In addition to dinner and dancing, there will be hors d’oeuvres, drinks, raffles and a Chinese auction. Dinner seating will begin at 6:45 p.m.
Cost is $50 per person before Feb. 1 and $60 after Feb. 1 and at the door. Cost includes two drink coupons.
Proceeds will be used to support programs at Children’s Hospital that are sponsored by the Olivia Scott Foundation. They include:
• Olivia’s Coffee, which provides coffee, tea and hot chocolate for the cancer clinic;
• Olivia’s Books, which features more than 500 new books;
• Olivia’s Stockings, which has donated $10,000 worth of new toys and other items to the cancer floor.
Two high school scholarships also were established by the organization through the Washington County Community Foundation.
Olivia Scott was diagnosed with liver cancer in February 2009 during her junior year at McGuffey High School. She died five months later.
