Jordan Brooks, son of Carl and Valerie Brooks of Waynesburg, was named to the dean’s list at California University of Pennsylvania, where he is majoring in theater. Brooks is treasurer of the Beta Omicron cast of Alpha Psi Omega, a national honorary theater fraternity, and studies voice at the Mon Valley Performing Arts Academy. He starred as Shellhammer in the university’s production of “Miracle on 34th Street.” Brooks is a 2010 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School. He is employed at Child First and is involved in Cal U.’s summer theater work study program.

Kayla Hudak was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average at California University of Pennsylvania, where she is majoring in communication disorders. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society, the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Sigma Alpha Pi National Society of Leadership and Success, and she was named a 2013 Presidential Scholar. Hudak is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School and volunteers at Washington Health System’s Children’s Therapy Center. Her parents are Scott and Lynn Hudak of Washington.

Benjamin M. Ursic was named to the dean’s list at Penn State University, where he is majoring in chemistry. He obtained a biology degree, with minors in molecule biology and chemistry, in 2011 at Penn State. His parents are Bill and Joyce Ursic of Scenery Hill.
