Breathe Pennsylvania, Southwestern Pennsylvania’s only locally based lung health organization, is enrolling youngsters with asthma for the 30th annual Camp Huff-n-Puff, which will be held Aug. 7-10 at the Jumonville Camp and Retreat Center in Uniontown.
The overnight camp is open to 8- to 13-year-olds, and enables campers to participate in educational sessions covering self-management of their asthma. A staff of medical doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and volunteers, including counselors with asthma, will be available to help campers enjoy a safe experience.
Tuition is $125 for residents of Western Pennsylvania, with discounts available to those who register before June 30. Breathe Pennsylvania also offers full and partial scholarships, based on financial need, that enable nearly 80 percent of campers to attend for free or at a significant cost reduction.
