Salamander Tales preschool program will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at Mingo Creek County Park with sessions at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Registration is required and an adult must attend. AFSCME Retired Chapter 13, subchapter 8402, will meet at 1 p.m. May 13 at Frank Sarris Library, 35 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg. All retired state and municipalities employees are welcome.
Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters Camera Club will meet at 7 p.m. May 14 in Peters Township Public Library. This will be the last club meeting before the summer break. The speaker will be Paul Selvaggio, creative director at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. This month’s photo theme is “flowers.” Only one image per photographer is permitted. Premier Designs Jewelry Sale, hosted by the Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc., will begin at 9 a.m. May 16 in the hospital lobby. Proceeds will be used to enhance services for patients and visitors at the hospital. For more information, call 724-258-1167.
Center United Presbyterian Church, 110 Washington Ave., Midway, will host its annual salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 17. Cost is $7. There also will be a basket raffle. Proceeds support the deacons ministry. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling 724-678-6976.
A country gathering will be held May 17 in the visitors center at Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village near Avella. Doors open at 11 a.m. Don Nixon, youth director at Covenant Church in Washington and speaker for the A.D. White Research Society, will speak at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free and a reduced rate will be charged to tour the Meadowcroft area.
