Austin – Kartik
Cefalo’s Banquet and Event Center in Carnegie was the site for the wedding of Charlotte Kartik and Casey Austin, who were united in marriage July 13, 2013, with the Rev. Dina McGee officiating the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents, John and Deborah Kartik of McMurray. Her grandparents are the late John and Chesteria Kartik and the late Edward and Helen Dominick.
Parents of the bridegroom are Mark and Tina Austin of Blairsville. His grandparents are Joseph and Nancy Yusko of Union City and the late Harry and Alice Austin.
Maid of honor was Ilona Kartik of Canonsburg, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Noelle Kartik of McMurray, sister of bride; Sarah Walker-Jeffrey of South Park; Diana Helman of Mt. Lebanon; Bayley Detar of Pittsburgh; Nicolena Husted of Erie and Shea Grimaldi of Meadville.
Best man for his brother was Joshua Austin of Lacey, Wash. Ushers were Zack Bernazzoli of Boston, Mass., Donald Glass of Blairsville, Steven Hampton of Pittsburgh, Matt Hanna of Blairsville, Jason Maudie of Homer City and Mike Sarnese of Telford.
A reception was held at the wedding site.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Peters Township High School. She attended Mercyhurst University, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in 2008 and a master of science degree in special education in 2010. She is a learning support teacher at South Fayette Middle School.
Her husband is a 2003 graduate of Blairsville High School and a 2007 graduate of Slippery Rock University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. He is a service operator for Pinnacle.
The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
