Peters Township Public Library’s GO Green Club will host a GO Green Camp for Kids from 10 a.m. to noon June 10-12 at the library.

The camp is free and open to children entering third through fifth grade in the fall.

The camp will offer a different “green” topic each day, and participants can sign up for one, two or all three days of the camp.

Themes include:

• June 10 – Composting and Pollination. Angie Phares will explain how to turn food scraps and other materials into compost – with a little help from worms. Dr. Candy DeBerry, associate professor of biology at Washington & Jefferson College, will demonstrate pollination.

• June 11 – Local Foods. Find out where to get fresh, local food that tastes great and is good for you. Bring a healthy appetite.

• June 12 – Water Cycle. Josephine Posti from Pennsylvania American Water Co. will explain the water cycle and provide an interactive watershed model, a water taste test and the Great Filter Challenge.

Registration is required by June 4 at the circulation desk. Space is limited to 25 kids each day.

High school students interested in helping with the camp should email ptplgogreenclub@gmail.com.
