Cassidy Rae Ardeno was named to the dean’s list at Robert Morris University, where she is majoring in nursing. She is a 2013 graduate of Washington High School, and her parents are Randy and Tracy Ardeno of Washington. Ardeno is employed by the Presbyterian Home.

Jessica Butterfield, daughter of Thomas and Melody Butterfield of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at Ohio Northern University, where she is a sixth-year pharmacy major.

Karlie Comfort, daughter of Tony and Kim Comfort of Washington, was named to the dean’s list for the fifth consecutive semester, and her fourth with a 4.0 grade-point average, at Slippery Rock University, where she is majoring in middle level mathematics education, with a minor in exceptionalities. She is secretary of the Pre-Service Teachers of Mathematics and co-founder of the Collegiate Middle Level Association. Comfort is employed as a sales associate at Ann Taylor and as an umpire with TWIST softball. She was a co-ed cheerleader her junior year. Comfort is a 2011 graduate of Trinity High School.

Ian Coote was named to the dean’s list at Ohio Northern University, where he is a senior majoring in biology. His parents are Jonathan and Maribeth Coote of Rogersville.

Mark R. Dami was named to the dean’s list at Waynesburg University, where he is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing. He is a human physiology tutor and a member of the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania. He is employed at the Golf Club of Washington and at St. Clair Hospital as a personal care assistant. Dami is a 2012 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, and his parents are Rich and Terri Dami of Canonsburg.

Dana Dallas Hess, son of Kathryn M. Hess and the late Dallas D. Hess, graduated cum laude from California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and a minor in math. He was on the dean’s list for the past four years. Before attending California, he attended Penn State University, Altoona and Fayette campuses, and Butler County Community College. He has served with the Army National Guard at Johnstown for the past six years, with a one-year tour in Iraq. He is a 1997 graduate of Trinity High School. He will enter the University of Wisconsin at Madison in September to continue graduate studies in chemistry.

Sarah Kradel, daughter of Dan Wilhelm and Betty Kradel of McMurray, was named to the dean’s list at Ohio Northern University, where she is a fifth-year pharmacy major.

Carly Marnik graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average from Mercyhurst University, where she majored in early childhood/special education. She was on the dean’s list each semester and received the Alumni Recognition Award for her spirit and involvement at Mercyhurst. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society and Council for Exceptional Children. She is a 2010 graduate of Peters Township High School, and her parents are Tom and Wendy Marnik of McMurray.

Mackenzie McElhaney was named to the dean’s list for the fourth consecutive semester with a 4.0 grade-point average at Slippery Rock University, where she is majoring in exercise science/physical therapy. She received the College President’s Award for placing in the top 20 for academics in the junior class. She is a 2012 graduate of McGuffey High School, and her parents are Jim and Sally McElhaney of Washington.

Olivia A. McClay of Washington graduated from James Madison University, where she majored in geology and minored in geopraphic science. She also was named to the dean’s list. McClay is a member of the Geology Club, Sigma Gamma Epsilon Honor Society, American Institute of Professional Geologists, Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists, Geological Society of America and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. She received the Second Century Scholarship, the W.T. Harnsberger Field Camp Scholarship and the Cullen Sherwood Oustanding Senior Award. She was the runnerup for the Geospatial Technology Award. McClay is a 2010 graduate of McGuffey High School, and her parents are Jeffrey M. and Erin F. McClay of Washington.

Zachary J. Parker graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans, where he earned a bachelor of science in music industry studies with a minor in business administration. He also was named to the dean’s list. He is a 2008 graduate of Bishop Canevin High School, and his parents are Jerry Parker of Pittsburgh and Tina Parker of Washington.

Alexandra Rice was named to the president’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average at the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy, where she is enrolled in the six-year pharmacy program. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society, American Pharmacists Association and the Lambda Kappa Sigma Professional Pharmacy Fraternity. She has been an active volunteer with Bonnie’s Bus, a mobile mammography program sponsored through the state of West Virginia. She also is employed as a pharmacy intern with RiteAid Corp. Rice is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are Karl and Denise Rice of Lone Pine.

Stephanie Sapic graduated summa cum laude from Waynesburg University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education/special education. She was named to the dean’s list every semester. Sapic was a member of Kappa Delta Phi National Honor Society and the Waynesburg University Honor Society. She completed her student teaching in the Canon-McMillan School District. Sapic is employed by Once Upon A Time Learning Center and the Double Tree Hotel in Meadow Lands, and is a substitute teacher in the Canon-McMillan School District. She is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are Ken Sapic and Kim Sapic, both of Washington.

Riley Sember was named to the dean’s list at Ohio Northern University, where he is a first-year pharmacy major. His parents are Mark and Denise Sember of Mc-Donald.

Nathan Troscinski, son of Mark and Kendra Troscinski of McMurray, graduated from Indiana University at Bloomington’s Kelley School of Business with a bachelor of science degree in finance and a bachelor of science degree in accounting. He minored in telecommunications. He recently accepted a position with CNA Financial Corp.’s Accounting Rotational Business Associate Program, which is based out of Chicago.
