Buffalo Grange 1523 will hold a birthday and anniversary party at 6:30 p.m. today.
Spaghetti dinner to benefit the family of Jody Dawson, who was awaiting a double-lung transplant when she died May 24, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, 3326 Washington Road, Bridgeville. Dr. Raymond L. Benza, a cardiologist at Allegheny General Hospital, will speak. There also will be raffle prizes. The dinner is sponsored by the Weavertown Environmental Group and subsidiaries. Annual Strawberry Festival will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Roscoe Presbyterian Church, 300 Main St. Strawberry shortcake and a drink cost $6.50 for adults and $3 for children younger than 8. Grilled hot dogs, kielbasa and sauerkraut, salads, soda and bake sale items also will be available for purchase. Takeout will be available. For more information, call 724-938-3787.
A dinner to benefit the Meerdo family of Washington will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Washington. Dinner includes chicken and biscuit, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw or fruit, dessert and beverage. A freewill offering accepted and all profits donated to Bricelyn and Keaton Meerdo Family.
