California Area School District Foundation is seeking sponsors and participants for its Frosty Frolic, which will be held Feb. 7 along the Monongahela River on Water Street in Coal Center.

People of all ages are welcome to take the plunge. Registration fee to take the plunge is $10, and a wade option costs $20.

Everyone who registers will receive a T-shirt, and prizes will be awarded at three levels: most money raised by student groups from California University of Pennsyvlania and California Area High School, high school alumni and community participants. Prizes for best costumes also will be awarded.

Registration will begin at 1 p.m., with costume judging at 1:20 and the plunge at 1:30.

Sponsors are needed to help offset expenses of insurance, tents and prizes.

Proceeds will help provide scholarships, grants and other support for students in the California Area School District.

Registration forms, pledge sheets, sponsor forms and releases are available by calling Lisa Buday at 724-938-1355 or emailing monriverromp@gmail.com.
