First Christian Church, 615 East Beau St., Washington, will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Dinner includes spaghetti with homemade meat sauce, salad, Italian bread, drink and homemade dessert. Cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children ages 4 through 12. Takeout orders will be available. Annual spaghetti dinner and bake sale will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Center Church Road, McMurray. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 4 through 12 years old. Children younger than 4 are free. There will be a choice of meat or vegetarian sauce. Takeout orders will be available. Proceeds benefit outreach ministries, including the Appalachia Service Project, a Christian ministry in which volunteers repair homes for those in need in rural Central Appalachia.
Annual Christmas Affair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at John McMillan Presbyterian Church, 875 Clifton Road, Bethel Park. There will be more than 55 crafters, and the event will feature the JMPC Bakery, Gingerbread House, a Chinese auction, Kris Kringle Kafé and an Angel Emporium Tree. Admission is free. Breakfast with Santa, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Eldersville Fire Hall. Santa will have breakfast with the children. If you would like to take pictures with Santa, bring your own camera. Cost is $5. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, donuts and juice. Reservations can be made by calling Paulette Mermon at 724-587-3832. Tickets can be picked up at the door.
Fairall United Methodist Church will hold its buckwheat cakes and sausage supper at 5 p.m. Saturday. The menu includes all-you-can-eat buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, whole hog sausage, applesauc and beverage. Donations will be accepted and take outs will be available. AFSCME Retired Chapter 13, subchapter 8402, will meet at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at Frank Sarris Public Library, 35 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg. All state retired employees are welcome.
Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will be offering a craft workshop at 10 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Mingo Creek County Park office. This month’s craft is a wooden glue gun holder. All craft supplies will be provided. November is cookie month. Bring two dozen home baked cookies with the recipe and recipes will be exchanged. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 724-228-6867. There is a minimal fee for the workshop.
First United Methodist Church of Canonsburg, 161 W. Pike St., will hold its 13th annual Veterans Day program at 7 p.m. Tuesday, to honor veterans, active-duty personnel and first responders. There will be a musical salute.
Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters Camera Club will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at Peters Township Public Library. Landscape and sports photographer Jeanine Leech will speak. This month’s photo theme is “Fall Foliage.” Only one image per photographer is permitted. Digital images must be submitted to Dave Tauch at dtauch127@gmail.com no later than Monday.
Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Church, South Buffalo Road, Hopewell Township, will hold a free community Thanksgiving luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 12.
Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer a free fall foray homeschool outdoor classroom for homeschooled children 5 through 11 years old at 10 a.m. Nov. 13 at Shelter 6 at Mingo Creek County Park. The program will be repeated at 1 p.m. The program includes a hike on the trails. Appropriate footwear and attire are required. The hike is not stroller-friendly.
