Washington County Council of Democratic Women will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the public meeting room in Courthouse Square. Guest speaker will be Dr. Yugo Ikach of the Washington Symphony Orchestra.

Friends of Citizens Library’s Lunch Speaker Series will host Laura Engel, a Jane Austen expert, author and Duquesne University faculty member, at noon Tuesday on the lower level of the library, 55 S. College St., Washington. The topic will be “Imagining Jane: Thinking through Places and Things in Jane Austen’s World.” Lunch is available for $5 after the program.

First Lutheran Church, 92 West Walnut St., Washington, will hold Holiday Happening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
