Zofchak – Wood
Sara Wood, formerly of Hickory, and Derek Zofchak, formerly of Muse, were united in marriage September 6, 2014, at Chartiers Crossroads Presbyterian Church, Washington, with Pastor Don O’Hare officiating the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride’s parents are Rich and Jane Lucas of Hickory and the late Dale A. Wood Jr. Her grandparents are Frances Wood and the late Dale Wood Sr., Nellie Bissett and the late Howard Bissett and the late George Lucas Sr.
Parents of the bridegroom are Larry and Lisa Zofchak of Muse. His grandparents are the late Peter and Mary Anne Zofchak and the late Donald and Elizabeth O’Hare.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Matron of honor was Dariann Wirth. Bridesmaids were Carman Lucas, sister of the bride; Amanda Hackinson, cousin of the bride; Sara Reilly; Sarah Ogburn; Lauren Erney, sister of the groom; and Lindsey Zofchak, sister of the groom.
Best man was Ryan Wingard. Ushers were Cody Wood, brother of the bride; Brian Erney, brother-in-law of the groom; Christos Pihiou; Mike Nackoul, cousin of the groom; and Ian Godfrey, cousin of the groom.
Reader was Nellie Bissett, grandmother of the bride.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and a 2012 graduate of Robert Morris University. She is a teacher at Fort Cherry Elementary School.
Mr. Zofchak is a 2007 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and a 2011 graduate of Waynesburg University. He is an environmental technician at Range Resources.
A reception was held at Washington County Fairgrounds.
The couple now resides in Canonsburg.
