Michael Hilzendeger, a student at Trinity High School, has been named a Commended Student in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program. Although Commended Students will not continue in the 2015 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, they placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition by taking the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Kyle Kozlowski, a senior at Trinity High School, has been selected to receive a $20,000 college scholarship through the Samsung-American Legion program. Kozlowski’s selection was based on his class standing, academic and civic achievements and financial need. Nine students earned the scholarship from a finalist pool of nearly 100. Eligibility requires that students be direct descendants of U.S. wartime veterans. The scholarship fund is administered by the American Legion in honor of U.S. veterans who aided Korea during the Korean War.
