Sip ‘n’ Shop with authors and vendors will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Gathering Place Coffee Shop at Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike. Authors who have spoken at the coffee shop will be selling and signing their books. Vendors include Fudgie Wudgie, More Than Books, Cookies by Clara and Castellino’s Bakery.

Chicken-and-biscuit dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Marianna Methodist Church. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for ages 10 and under.

Genealogy Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania will hold a free workshop for those interested in finding their ancestors at 2 p.m. Nov. 1 at Citizens Library, 55 S. College St., Washington.

First United Methodist Church, Fredericktown, will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 4. Cost is $8. Takeout orders will be available. There also will be a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
