Writing contest focuses on Irish history

Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Inc. will hold their annual Irish History Writing Contest.

The topic is “The Role of the Irish People in the American Civil War.”

Entries must be submitted by Nov. 15. Level 1 includes sixth- through eighth-graders, and the top prize is $500. Level 2 includes ninth- through 12th-graders, and the top prize is $1,000. Parochial, private, public school and homeschooled students are eligible.
