Halloween oldies dance will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight today at Denbo Vesta Six Fire Department, 415 Lowhill Road, Brownsville. DJ Ralph Trilli will provide the music. Doors open at 7:30. Food and soft drinks will be available. BYOB is optional. Admission is $8 per person and $15 for a couple. All proceeds benefit the fire department.

Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Washington, will hold a chicken and biscuit community dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. In addition to the cream chicken and biscuit, dinner includes mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw or fruit, dessert and beverage.
