West End Neighborhood Watch Chapter I will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at West Washington United Methodist. Mayor Brenda Davis will attend the meeting.
Pennsylvania State Police, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, will host the ninth national drug take-back initiative from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pennsylvania State Police Barracks, 83 Murtland Ave., Washington. Controlled, noncontrolled and over-the-counter medications will be collected. Sharpies and syringes will not be accepted. The program is anonymous.
Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts Christmas Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 17-19 and Oct. 25 and 26 at the Washington County Fairgrounds, 2151 N. Main St. There will be more than 220 arts, crafts and food booths, plus holiday music, a visit from Santa Claus and trolley rides. Admission is $6 for adults, $5.50 for senior citizens 65 years and older and $1 for children 6 to 12 years old. Children younger than 6 are free. Parking is free. Western Pennsylvania Firemen’s Association will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at Point Marion Volunteer Fire Department.
Home Instead Senior Care will hold a family education workshop on Alzheimer’s from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at 2000 Oxford Drive, third floor conference room, Bethel Park. Reservations are required by calling 412-595-7554 or 724-222-7770. This workshop will be held every fourth Tuesday of the month.
