Six seniors from Peters Township High School have been named semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corp. in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program. They are among 16,000 students from across the country to earn the honor. They are Matthew Gummersbach, Daniel Krajovic, Mary Kate Pritz, Nicholas Roberts, Roy Wang and Delaney Wehn. They have an opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $33 million, that will be offered next spring.

Seventeen students from Peters Township High School have qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of the exams. They are Alyssa Aburachis, Sean Boyles, Jennifer Cashman, Ian Dickey, Matthew Gummersbach, Suhas Hoysala, John Hussey, Sebastian Hymson, Maxwell Lindsay, Anthony Lioon, Aaron Ranallo, Nicholas Roberts, Matthew Stablein, Isabelle Stasenko, Shane Taylor, Roy Wang and Keenan Witmer. In addition:

• Sixty students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of the exams.

• Thirty-two students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of the exams.

• Forty-eight students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with scores of 3 or higher.
